Invitation to register and call for abstracts for poster presentations.

The Infection and Immunity Research theme would like to invite participants in the Infection and Immunity Away Day. They hope that this will be an opportunity to network and meet other colleagues working in the area, discuss emergent topics of research, explore potential collaborative projects and discuss future plans.

The event will be an opportunity for members of the theme to hear about the strategic research landscape at the University and the region. Professor Andrew Dick will be presenting the current plans to establish University Research Institutes and Professor David Wynick will talk about the work that is taking place to establish an Academic Health ScienceCentre (AHSC). The Director of the Severnside Alliance for Translational Research (SARTRE), Professor Lars Sundstrom, will also convey the work of the alliance to encourage and support translational research and to develop industry partnerships in the region. SARTRE is also partly sponsoring this event. In addition, the event will include parallel discussions on hot topics with presentations from senior members of the theme but most importantly will encourage discussion from all those attending; the topics are being developed at the moment and more information will be available on the University of Bristol website soon.

Finally, the committee would like to encourage poster presentations. Posters from all areas of I&I research are invited but they especially welcome submissions that showcase translations outcomes of research and interaction with industry and/or external partners.

They are planning to produce an I&I brochure that focuses on translational research and the information provided in the poster presentations may be used to produce material for external partners.

This event is free so to avoid disappointment please register early as places are available on a first‐come first‐serve basis.

Register here.

Abstracts must be received by Monday 19 December and should be sent to infectionimmunity@bristol.ac.uk.
